Pricing Options – Mixing and Matching

Our pricing model is designed to be flexible and efficient for your monitoring needs.  It is important to understand a few key terms we use in our naming and terminology:

Class 1 = for Windows® Server Operating Systems

Class 2 = For Windows® Desktop Operating Systems or Network/Linux/UNIX Devices

Licenses = There are five (5) different packaged “sets” of monitoring features within ELM.  We refer to these as Licenses.  Different licenses can be mixed and matched within a single deployment of ELM.  While this is not as common as utilizing a single license type across your network it is a cost effective option.

How Do Licenses Work – Example

Your Small/Medium Office Monitoring Needs:

  • 1 Email Server – Core license to collect performance data and collect logs
  • 2 File Servers – Event licenses for object access event log collection
  • 1 Domain Controller/DHCP server – System license to collect security logs and read dhcp .log files
  • 1 SQL Server – Core license for performance data, SQL performance, and event logs
  • 2 Application Servers – Core licenses to collect performance data and logs
  • 10 Workstations – Event licenses to collect logs per compliance requirements
  • 3 Linux Machines – Network licenses to collect SNMP and Syslog messages
  • 1 Firewall – Network license to collect Syslog messages

That’s what we mean by flexibility!

Yes – the first 90 days of support and maintenance is included with purchased licenses for new customers.  Thereafter support is billed at 20% of the current market value of licenses owned.  Support for additional products added to your initial license will be prorated based on your renewal date.

Yes, in most cases we’d be happy to extend your evaluation of ELM Enterprise Manager beyond the 30-day trial period.  Contact our sales department for details on how to get an extension.

We work with many customers who maintain sealed environments.  By request TNT Software can send an activation key file for those environments where this is a requirement for lack of internet connection.

Yes.  You can add any number of licenses for servers, workstations or network devices at any time.  We will prorate your support and maintenance based on your renewal date and automatically apply any applicable volume discounts you qualify for.  Subscriptions can be added to at any time as well and will adjust accordingly on the monthly, quarterly or annual billing.

Class 1 licenses are designated for Server Operating systems.  These are typically the critical operational life blood of any business environment, therefore they are more complex and have more monitoring requirements.

Class 2 licenses are designated for Desktop Operating systems and Network/Linux/UNIX devices.  These typically are a lower volume of security data and priced accordingly.

Class 1 licenses can run on a Server or Desktop/Device environment.  Class 2 licenses will only function in a Desktop/Device environment.

We can accept many forms of payment including:

The easiest way to find your ELM license information for your maintenance renewal date is to open the Management Console, right-click the ELM Server name, and select Document.

Here you will find additional product information including the version number, license identifier, as well the number of licenses available and how many are currently in use.

This is also were you can manually activate the product when you perform an upgrade to newer versions or add additional licenses.

On older versions of ELM you will want to open the ELM Console (MMC) and right-click on the ELM Server to view the properties.  This will show the same information as stated above.

No but we strongly recommend it.  Having a support and maintenance agreement in place will give you access to skilled product engineers and system administrators who will help you get the most out of the product and troubleshoot any problems that may arise.

You also receive access to bug fixes and future upgrades as they become available as well as access to a library of How-To resources.  The majority of our customers opt to renew their support and maintenance contract each year.
